Akan kompetansesenter

Akan kompetansesenter is a nonprofit organization operating in the human resources industry. We were founded in 1963 and are headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

We are Norway's only competence center for the prevention and management of problematic use of substances and gambling in the workplace. We assist organizations with expertise, tools, and guidance to create safe and inclusive workplaces. We enable leaders and employees to prevent and manage problematic use of alcohol, drugs, medicines, gambling, and doping.

We offer guidance to help prepare for and conduct conversations with an employee or colleague. We offer digital and physical courses and seminars that enable prevention and management of problematic use in the workplace, and we can customize courses for your organization. We provide corporate internal measures, including relevant information, presentations, workshops, and the development of policies on substance use and gambling tailored to your organization. We provide tools and resources, including a guide to the Akan model, examples and templates to help address substance and gambling issues in the workplace.
