Algemene Bestuursdienst, we are a government agency operating in the human resources industry. We were founded in 1995 and are headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands.

We support departments with finding these leaders and strengthening their leadership and professional craft. We base our work on the national vision on public leadership, which describes what the government expects from public leaders. We are responsible for central oversight and assurance of the quality of these top civil servants and for promoting collaboration between departments. We provide recruitment and support in selecting top civil servants, and we offer a comprehensive learning and development offering on leadership and civil service craft, and we work strategically with boards and HR directors on talent management, diversity, knowledge retention and succession planning.
