We are J Star Maritime Ltd., a partnership operating in the staffing and recruiting industry. We were founded in 2017 and are headquartered in Kherson, Ukraine.

We are dedicated to providing owners/managers with highly qualified fleet personnel in compliance with national and international regulations and standards. Our main activity is the selection and recruitment of Masters, Officers and Ratings for most vessel types. We have agreements with Marine Academies of Kherson, Odesa and Kyiv, and we offer pre-employment, shipowner-oriented training for prospective crew members. We also support cadet training programmes through the Junior Maritime Project, founded by seafarers for seafarers in 2017 on behalf of J Star Maritime Ltd.

We recognize the importance of competent human resources on board to operate vessels efficiently, safely and cost effectively. We pay maximum emphasis on screening Masters, Officers and Crew, thoroughly scrutinizing all personal documents and records of previous sea service. We conduct reference checks with previous employers to review performance records. We also undertake interviews to assess professional ability, attitude, personality and communication skills, with a view to compatibility with multinational crews and to find the right candidate for the right job. We maintain a quality policy to ensure that each vessel is manned with qualified, certified and medically fit seafarers, able to maintain operating levels at all times.
