We are UCEP Bangladesh, a nonprofit organization operating in the human resources industry. We were founded in 1972 and are headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

We aim to uplift the socio-economic conditions of underprivileged communities by helping individuals learn skills to earn. We bring drop-out children back to education, provide vocational skills training and offer job-placement supports to the youth graduates.

We deliver education and training through a network of schools and programs. We provide free education from grade 5 to 8, along with a six-month remedial course to improve reading, writing in Bangla and numeracy. After Grade 8, students have the option to study in Grade 9–10 in vocational tracks. We offer free short-term training of three to six months in various trades such as readymade garments, textile, electrical and electronics, construction, furniture, catering, manufacturing and other sectors. After the training, we provide job-placement supports as well as entrepreneurship development training. Youth from non-UCEP schools can also join courses that run in three shifts, including evening courses. We have a track record of 95% employment within the first six months of course completion. UCEP also has a community mobilization function that promotes rights of children and women to ensure their education, skills training and access to employment.

We provide education and vocational training as our core services. We operate UIST (UCEP Institute of Science and Technology), which offers a four-year diploma in engineering as a fee-based program to support scholarships and cross-subsidize skills training for the underprivileged.
